OUR LOGO:
The
logo of ASELIS Learning Foundation contains three main
iconic components: the angel, the dream catcher, and the united
climbing
learners. The Dream Catcher: The "dream catcher" is hung above a child’s bed and is used as a charm to protect him or her from nightmares. Dream catchers are made of willow and sinew, so they are not meant to last forever. Rather they are intended to dry out and collapse as the child enters the age of adulthood. The Native American Ojibwa tribe believe that a dream catcher changes a person's dreams. Good dreams pass through and slide down the feathers to the sleeper while the net catches the bad dreams, which dissolve with the coming of daylight. ASELIS
will lay an educational
foundation that will help eliminate some of life’s nightmares and
realize only
the dreams that will help people fully realize their human potential.
As the
community matures in its capacity to address its unique educational
challenges,
ASELIS will gradually play less and less of a role. In the end, it will
play
less of an active role and more of an advisory role when requested by
the
community. United Climbing Learners: The three people are climbing books towards the dream catcher that filters out their nightmares and only allows their dreams. The books represent the educational foundation they need to fulfill their dreams. They climb hand-in-hand because they know they cannot do it alone. The entire time, they are growing in their ability to truly learn, and they are moving to the place in which education is merely foundational and learning is the true focus. The entire time, they are surrounded by the angel’s wings, which are guiding them, supporting them, and inspiring them. ©2010 ASELIS Learning Foundation. All rights reserved. |
