What is the ASELIS Learning Foundation?

ASELIS is a nonprofit organization with headquarters in Daly City, California, USA. Our vision is to ensure that all children receive a strong educational foundation that leads to lifelong learning and fulfilled lives. Our mission is to guide, support, and inspire learning communities that will break the cycle of poverty and violence for the highest-need children by providing them with an educational foundation focused on their specific needs and protected from influences and forces that detract from that focus.

What does the word "aselis" mean?

The word aselis is a Passamaquoddy (a Native American tribe) word that means “angel.” An angel is a presence that guides, supports, and inspires people to live life as God intends – always loving, always learning, always growing. ASELIS will be that presence for the children, the families, and the communities it serves. Read more about the deeper meaning behind our LOGO.

Whom does ASELIS serve?

We seek to serve the highest-need children. We have served the poorest children in the Philippines through donations to schools there. We also are designing and building the first ASELIS Learning Center, which will be named in honor of former South African President Nelson Mandela. It will serve the highest-need children and provide them with the strongest possible educational foundation.
